A Ghostly Look Inside The 9/11 Memorial Museum. This Chilled Me To The Bone.
The National 9-11 Memorial Museum will be open to the public on May 21, 2014. The exhibit tells the stories of the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives, and of the survivors and first responders. The museum holds over 10,000 artifacts – a wide range of personal items donated by the victims’ families in memory of their loved ones, as well as multiple objects salvaged from the wreckage.
The letters of Virgil’s quote from Aeneid were made out of remnant steel from the World Trade Center by blacksmith Tom Joyce.
The “Survivors’ Stairway” was an escape route for hundreds of people fleeing.
The FDNY serves as a reminder of the heroic acts that took place that day.
