This Airplane Hanger Is Hiding A VERY Bizarre Secret. The Interior Photos Are Truly Astonishing.
When you plan a tropical vacation, what kinds of things do you expect? Naturally, you'll want a place that has warm temperatures and sandy white beaches. A few palm trees couldn't hurt. You're going to need cool water to jump into, and at least a few cocktails to pass the time. Ideally, you'll be spending the entire day in your bathing suit. Now that you've got your requirements down, where in the world offers all of these things? Obvious choices are Costa Rica, Brazil, the Mediterranean, and Brandenburg, Germany.
Okay, so maybe that last one isn't on the top of your list. Bradenburg is 40 miles outside of Berlin, totally landlocked, and has temperatures reach, at the highest, sixty degrees. However, if you're headed to Brandenburg, you can still totally pack a swimsuit and go here:
It doesn't look like much (and it looks ridiculously cold), but inside this drab old airplane hanger is an amazing surprise.
That's right: Inside the snowy hangar is the Tropical Islands Resort.
The hangar is 1,200 feet long, 700 feet wide and 350 feet high - In other words, plenty of room for fun in the "sun."
There are makeshift sandy beaches surrounding the enormous pool, and they're so lovely that you might be able to trick yourself into believing you're not in the dreary heart of wintry Germany.
The resort has places to stay, as well as places to eat and relax.
There are even some pretty epic waterslides.
