You may not know her name but you have likely heard Kathryn Beaumont's voice in a number of animated classics. She voiced the title character in Alice in Wonderland, Walt Disney’s 1951 animated tale. Beaumont, who was ten years old when she played Alice, was also the physical inspiration of the curious girl.
Beaumont dressed in full costume to perform the movements and reactions of her character. Animators would then draw the scenes on paper.
