A Kitten’s Burning Desire To Live Got Him Through A Critical Situation Without Any Food And Water For Three Days.

It’s often said that problems rarely come with prior warnings. They enter our lives when we least expect them and it is all up to us how we choose to deal with these issues. How a living being overcomes these obstacles says a lot about that individual’s personality. One can either roll into a ball in bed for as long as they want to, or they can face the situation valiantly and triumph successfully. That's exactly what the staff of African Maritime Services came across when they found a kitten that was on the brink of death. But the brave kitty survived against all the odds though he had to pay a price.

In October, the staff of African Maritime Services suddenly started hearing loud cries coming from the factory.

They initially thought that it was a bird in distress.

The sounds were stemming from inside the wooden reel, and after a closer inspection with a torch, they were shocked to find three small kittens

Rob, a staff member at African Maritime said that they were all amazed that the kittens had survived for three days without any food or water. One of them even had an injured paw.

The rescuers hurried and carefully got the kittens out. But to their dismay, two of the kittens had already passed away and the third was on the verge of giving up. The little kitten had survived even after a severe paw injury and going without any water or food in days. All the members of the African Maritime then dutifully nursed the little feline back to health. One of the employees quickly fetched water for the kitty and carefully fed him. The poor animal was held close to the employee’s chest in order to be kept warm.

“I called my wife, Sue, and told her we needed help urgently. She and our daughter, Louise, quickly arranged to pick up Billy the kitten and delivered him to the Kitten Cottage,” Rob added.

There, Paulette, a foster owner for The Kitten Cottage nursed Billy round the clock and made sure he was comfortable and making progress. Soon all of Paulette’s efforts started paying off as the little feline was healing and getting stronger day by day.

After just three days of antibiotics, love and care, Billy had made tremendous progress.

His eyes had started to clear and he was more responsive than ever. Even though he couldn’t dodge the paw injury and ended up losing his bad paw, he quickly bounced back. Like the champ that he was, he learned to adapt to living with three paws. Billy is now all grown up and is enjoying being a healthy feline who plays around in the garden and enjoys running around on his three paws.
