Aussies who live in a neighborhood of approximately 100 houses can expect the following; someone gets married every 9 months, 1 death every 7 months, and 1 birth every 14 weeks. 260 people live in the 100 homes as well as 45 dogs and 27 cats. There are 162 cars on the street, driven two million kilometers per year.
#4. Australia grows opium for pharmaceutical purposes. Wallabies that get into these farms and eat the poppies, get high and hop around creating crop circles.
#5. Aussies have an interesting sense of humor. To scare tourists they invented the imaginary drop bear: a vicious bear that literally falls from trees to attack it's victims.
#6. Ugg boots have been made in Australia for decades. In fact, the name 'ugg' is an Australian term used to describe boots made out of sheepskin. An American company has the trademark for the name and wants to keep that name from being used by Aussie boot makers. This is a legal fight that has been brewing since 1999.
