This Transgender Man Just Gave Birth To His Female Transgender Partner’s Baby.

Before your mind blows a fuse after reading that title, let us give you the rundown. Fernando Machado and Diane Rodriguez is a transgender couple who recently gave birth to a lovely baby and made history at the same time, as they’re the first South American couple to do so. Fernando was a female at birth, and Maria used to be a male before they both transitioned into their real selves. They are both able to procreate and conceive children since neither have undergone gender reassignment surgery.

The groundbreaking couple lives in Ecuador and they’re more than eager to continue their family and have more children. That’s the main reason why they chose to not get gender reassignment surgery, a procedure that reconstructs a transgender person’s existing genitals and function.

Love is Love

Ms Rodriguez and Mr Machado have not had an easy life. They both had to struggle to embrace their own sexuality as most people do, in a world that is not so welcoming. When Ms Rodriguez came out to her parents, she was shunned and sadly, ended up living on the streets.

A Happy Go Lucky Dad

More than one woman would love to switch places with her husband and have him carry the baby. That's pretty much the reality for this couple, with Mr Machado being the one sporting the belly.

But the lovely couple have made waves before when Ms Rodriguez became the first transgender candidate to run for Congress in 2013. Her mission was quite clear: to use her past experiences when coming out to her own family and getting shunned and outcast due to her sexual identity.

A Bright Future

The lovely couple have been sharing every step of their pregnancy, up until they gave birth in June, with their supporting and loving fans online. Now they're one strong, united family with so much love to give, they also share that love with the world by seeking awareness for the LGBT community with a campaign they started right after their baby was born.
