This Enigmatic Cloud Of 100,000 Balloons Is Every Bit As Cool As It Sounds.
Weaving their way through a convent hall in a gorgeous old London building, over 100,000 balloons have taken the concept of installation art to a whole new level.
Conceived by French artist Charles Pétillon, the installation is named "Heartbeat," and is supposed to represent the spiritual and philosophical connection we all share with one another. Here's what Pétillon had to say about his work in an interview:
Their goal is to change the way in which we see the things we live alongside each day without really noticing them. With "Heartbeat," I want to represent the market building as the beating heart of this area – connecting its past with the present day to allow visitors to re-examine its role at the heart of London’s life.
The photos of the installation are stunning. See the images - and a video of the project going up for the first time - below.
There are over 100,000 balloons covering the ceiling in this installation.
