Beekeepers Are Heating Up Hives… And The Whole World Should Say ‘Thanks.’

Most people don't realize how crucial bees are to our planet's ecosystem, and sadly, there's something out there that's threatening to destroy them and their hives.

The Verroa destructor is a certain kind of mite that kills bee colonies. Originally from Asia (where there are few bees left), these mites have traveled across the globe and threaten bee populations everywhere. Traditional pesticides and poisons don't seem to be helping -- but luckily, there's one thing that might.

It's called the Thermosolar Hive, and housing bees inside of one could keep the mites out and the bees alive and thriving. Learn more about this interesting invention below.

Next, this beekeeper uses bees to make 3-B art.
