Carrie Fisher will always be Princess Leia to the world. The legendary actor, comedian, author, and screenplay writer, passed away today at the age of 60. Fisher was born famous as she is Hollywood royalty. Her mother is none other than America’s sweetheart Debbie Reynolds and her dad was singer Eddie Fisher.
She once said “I was born into big celebrity. It could only diminish.” When she was two years old her father left her mother to marry sexy icon Elizabeth Taylor, creating the first of many Hollywood scandals. Still, Fisher took her life with a comedic and self-deprecating flair.
When the Star Wars Lucasfilm franchise was bought by Disney, many criticized the sale while Fished simply exclaimed “I’m now a Disney Princess!” Good night to the one and only Princess Leia Organa.
Carrie Frances Fisher was born on October 21, 1956 in Beverly Hills, California.

In 1975, she made her debut in the film Shampoo starring Warren Beatty.
She released the autobiographical novel Postcards from the Edge, about the relationship of a showbiz mother and daughter. The book would later be made into a film starring Meryl Streep.
Fisher could not imagine a life other than one in the arts.
"I always wanted to do what my mother did - get all dressed up, shoot people, fall in the mud. I never considered anything else," she once said.
Her big break came in 1977 when she landed the starring role of Princess Leia in Star Wars.
Fans may have loved her bun-styled hair but Fisher hated them. She never complained because she was afraid George Lucas would fire her and hire another actress.
