This Converted Old Church Is The Kind Of Home You’ve Been Praying For.

We think of churches as places of worship, but when they are no longer being used for religious purposes, they are simply beautiful buildings. That's why it makes sense that architects and designers would want to get their hands on these properties and refurbish them - even if that means turning the church into a stunning home.

Linc Thelen Design and Scrafano Architects recently completed this stunning church conversion in Chicago, and it is absolutely jaw-dropping. Perhaps not everyone would feel comfortable living in a church, but everyone can agree that this particular renovation would be a beautiful space to rest your head.

This is the exterior of the old church. The inside is no longer dedicated to pews and altars.

It's a 5,500 square foot home, and it's absolutely beautiful.

The great room has massive ceilings and minimal decor.

There are modern touches throughout, but some elements of the former church have also been preserved.

How amazing would it be to have this stained glass window in your kitchen?

The home has seven bedrooms and six bathrooms, and is intended for a family of five.

It also has plenty of space for entertaining.

Each room is unique, like this one on the second floor.

All of the appointments in the bathrooms are state-of-the-art and chic.

This minimal, utilitarian bathroom is incredible.

As well as this vintage inspired bathroom.

The best part of the house might be the "kid room," which boasts it's very own rock climbing wall.

Even if you never go to church, living in this one would be heavenly.

Next, photos of the most beautiful churches.
