For over 10 years, a man named Malik Divers has run a small Philadelphia stable in the city with a unique goal to improve the community via an unlikely means: Horses.
At his stable, Divers trains teenagers to ride and care for horses, with the hopes of teaching them responsibility. They're called the Concrete Cowboys, and what Divers has created is a unique and compelling form of therapy.
In the video below, we meet Divers and an 18-year-old named Shahir Drayton who is in Divers' Concrete Cowboys program. His relationship to his horse is truly unique, and his story will make you realize how effective Divers' program really is.
