She Was Told Her Headscarf Was ‘Unsuitable’ For Work, Her Response Was EPIC.

The world is unfair sometimes, but that doesn't mean you can't fight back in powerful and peaceful ways. This is exactly what June J. Rivas did when her boss confronted her for defying the dress code, saying that her hair in ponytails, pigtails, and scarf were "unprofessional."

In a recent Facebook post, Rivas stated, "Our contract states 'No dress code. Just be clean and pressed.'"

Along with the caption, she showed an example of what she usually wears to work: a light colored suit with a patterned blouse and a headwrap. June filed a harassment complaint against her boss.

Her boss responded with a stricter dress code, which bans straps, hats, sandals, cleavage, exposed backs, and lace. While many of these are pretty standard bans, the new dress code also includes cultural head wraps.

That's when June got really creative. Not only did she report her boss to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, or EEOC, she also began to cosplay at work. Cosplay is when an individual dresses up as a character from a film, book, or video game. The best part is that all of her costumes are in compliance with the new dress code.

Check out photos and more details of the world's newest superhero below.

This is how June J. Rivas usually dresses for work. I think we can all agree that she looks pressed and clean, and in full compliance with said dress code.

Rivas filed a harassment complain against her female boss, but that didn't seem to do much good.

"To counter, she issued a brand new memo," June wrote on Facebook. "We now have a dress code. No any of above plus no straps, hats, sandals, cleavage, back out, lace, and even (and I quote) 'cultural head wraps.'"
