What 2,000 Calories Actually Looks Like From Fast Food Restaurants.

Depending on age, weight, and gender, the average adult should consume no more than around 1,600 to 2,400 calories daily. Although, considering most people will finish everything on their plate as opposed to stopping when they are full, combined with excessively large portion sizes at most restaurants, it’s not hard to see why Americans are putting on the pounds.

To combat the growing problem of obesity, many of our favorite fast-food restaurants are cutting down their portion sizes. However, this is still nowhere near a solution as most of these convenient options are still excessively high in calories and contain little nutritional value.

For most of us, we may not have an idea of what 2,000 calories look like in terms of the fast-food options out there. The ironic thing is, most single meals contain enough calories to cover this daily intake. Before you lose hope, it is still very possible to choose healthy options that will fill your belly but it’s nearly impossible to do this at most restaurants

Chipotle: This looks deceptively healthy but check out these numbers: a carnitas burrito has 945 calories, chips and guacamole have 770 calories and a cola has 276 calories for a total of 1,991 calories.
