This Deaf Dalmatian Is Making The World A Better Place, But It Was Almost A VERY Different Story.
Charlie is a beautiful, friendly Dalmatian - the type of dog who you'd never expect to find at a shelter. However, as fate would have it, Charlie ended up at one, and since he was deaf, it wasn't long before shelter volunteers would have to euthanize him.
Days before Charlie was scheduled to be put down, a miracle happened: Someone adopted him. Charlie's human could see that he was special right away, so she began to train him. Since he's deaf, he couldn't be trained normally. Instead, his human did something amazing: She trained him using sign language.
Charlie takes most of his commands via American Sign Language. He can do a lot of things, but mostly, he just likes to be hugged.
Charlie's skills have positioned him to be a training and therapy dog. He's also got an incredible talent for being absolutely adorable.
Check out some of Charlie's adorable photos.
According to his owner, his favorite ALS command is "I love you." We love you too, Charlie.
