He Saved This Dog From A Shelter… And It Ended Up Saving His Life.
When Air Force Senior Airman David Sharpe returned from his deployment, he was diagnosed with PTSD and mild depression. He felt angry, and at times even violent. Over the next few weeks, Sharpe became suicidal. Then a friend suggested that they go and check out the Pit bull rescue shelter. He expected to get a tough, fighting dog with a personality like himself. But what ended up happening was the opposite and it changed his life forever.
Sharpe came up with the idea to pair veterans living with PTSD with shelter animals. You can find out more at Companions for Heroes.
