Her Friend Got Cancer, So She Did Something Unforgettable. The Husky’s Eyes Destroyed Me.
Dogs have the power to brighten up our day, no matter what we are going through. No one can tell you that better than 16-year-old Anthony Lyons of Arizona, who was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia last year. During his chemotherapy treatments, dogs would stop by and visit Anthony to cheer him up.
“Like I can be in here having a really bad day and then one of the dogs will show up and it will be the highlight of the day.” - Anthony
When the dogs weren't able to visit Anthony, a family friend came up with a great idea. Roberta Lucero-Koron set up a Facebook page titled “Photo Doggies for Anthony” to encourage people to send pictures of their dogs to Anthony. The page has received over half a million dog pictures along with warm wishes. Anthony said he looks at every one of them and it makes him happy.
