Beautiful Photos From A Hidden Elephant Sanctuary.

The Elephant Sanctuary in Hoenwald, Tennessee, is the largest elephant sanctuary in the United States. It’s mission is to provide a haven for old, sick or needy elephants who have been retired from zoos and circuses. It provides three separate and protected, natural-habitat environments for African and Asian elephants. The elephants do not perform or entertain for the public. Instead, they are allowed to live like elephants. It’s a true sanctuary, so human interaction, other than caretakers, is prohibited.

For more information on how you can help support the elephants, check out The Elephant Sanctuary’s website and their Facebook and Twitter.
