If you're a meat-lover, it's difficult to imagine a world in which you'd never dine on chicken, beef, or fish ever again. Harder still is to imagine going vegan -- after all, if you can't eat cheese, what's the point of doing anything?
That being said, there are numerous health benefits to the vegan and vegetarian lifestyles that can't be denied: Going animal free can help lower your cholesterol, your weight, improve your mood, and more. Find out which of your favorite celebrities have adopted the lifestyle below.
#1. Anthony Kiedis
“Soon after I went vegan," Kiedis said, "I saw some documentary footage of what happens in the factory farming of cows. It sealed the deal.“
Prince does everything before it's considered cool, and he's been a vegan since the nineties. In 2006, Prince was voted Sexiest Vegetarian in People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ annual contest.

#3. Natalie Portman
After Portman read Jonathan Safran Foer's "Eating Animals," which sheds light on how animals that make it to our plate are raised, killed, and processed, she not only became a strict vegan but also a vegan activist.
#4. Ellen DeGeneres
Similar to Natalie Portman, comedian and talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres switched to vegan after reading plenty of literature on the matter. “I do it because I love animals,” DeGeneres said. “And I saw the reality and I just couldn’t ignore it anymore.”
Usher looks amazing for his age, and it's probably somewhat to do with his healthy diet. He went vegan in 2012, most likely a result of watching his father die of a heart attack in 2008. After that, the singer was committed to a much healthier diet.
