This Crazy ‘Star Wars’ Artwork Is (Literally) Growing Out Of This Japanese Rice Field.

Many have thought about crop circles and their mysterious origins. Some people think they are the work of intelligent beings from another planet; creative extraterrestrials leaving their masterpieces in our crop fields. What if aliens from “a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away" inspire man-made art on earth instead?

In Inakadate Village in Japan, rice paddies are planted with the help of computer software so that from an aerial view the beautiful Japanese designs come alive. One field was planted with a different inspiration. The pattern is from Star Wars and features characters C-3P0 and R2-D2, alongside a new BB-8 droid from yet-to-be-released The Force Awakens.

Who would have thought you could find art in agriculture?

These 21 photographs will change the way you see the world.
