100 Funniest Business Names Of ALL TIME. #62... What Were You Thinking?!
According to Nicole Robinson, CEO of Gloss and Glam, the most important things to think about when starting a business are:
- Own your name.
- Get in with the law.
- How much do you need to live?
- Where are you in your life?
- Don’t over — or under — spend.
Let's take a look at that first one again. Own your name. Say, for example, you'd like to open a restaurant. At random, I chose 5 names from a list of the Top 100 Bay Area Restaurants:
- Park Tavern
- French Laundry
- Bravas Bar de Tapas
- Chez Panisse
Now, without thinking too hard, I can say that these restaurants "own their names." There's a clear sense of professionalism. Unfortunately, there are other businesses that could not follow suit due to translation issues, bad judgment, or a lack of creativity (or perhaps too much creativity), among other reasons. We've put together a list here. Enter at your own risk.
