Listen To How German Sounds Compared To Other Languages. (Funny)
When we think of romantic, soft words spoken in a foreign language, German rarely comes to mind. As one of the most spoken languages in the world, it has over 90 million native speakers globally, German is anything but delicate.
In my first year of university I took French and German classes. I quickly learned French rolls off the tongue easily while German feels like you are having an argument with someone. It doesn’t matter how much you try to soften the words, it is impossible to articulate a sound with ease.
To prove just how harsh everything sounds in German, a comparison with other languages was made. Words like butterfly, surprise, and pen are articulated in English, French, Italian, Spanish, and lastly in German. Perhaps the secret is for speakers to whisper rather than use their normal volume.
Next, Germany has the best traffic lights.
