This Hero Cat Took A Bullet, And He Saved A Boy’s Life.
Heroes come in all forms; meet Opie, a cat from Pennsylvania. The feline doesn’t wear a cape nor have super strength but it can stop a speeding bullet. Angelica Sipe heard a gunshot and quickly went to check on her three-year-old son Daemire, who was sleeping on the couch in the living room. She found her son unharmed but Opie was hurt.
Opie took a stray bullet that entered above his left eye, out through the neck, then back in the shoulder and out from his ribs. If the bullet hit Daemire, it may have been fatal. Incredibly, the cat only suffered muscle damage. Opie’s vet bill is $1,000 so far, not including his follow-up appointments. A gofundme page has been set to help cover the cost of Opie’s recovery.
A stray bullet entered through the front window while three-year-old Daemire was sleeping.
The bullet entered above Opie's eye, through his neck, to the shoulder and out through the ribs. The bullet continued to ricochet across the room, finally getting stuck in a pillow above the three-year-old.
Angelica Sipe was given the option to put the feline down, but she refused.
"He was my son's little hero, so I need to keep him around," says Sipe.
Sipe is convinced her cat saved Daemire.
Opie had surgery, has muscle damage, and is currently using a drainage tube. Nonetheless, the feline is expected to make a full recovery.
Next, a stray cat saves an abandoned baby.
