Hundreds Of Unique Hot Air Balloons Just Flew Over Turkey’s Amazing Landscape.
Cappadocia is a vast region in Turkey with surreal volcanic rock formations, underground cities, cave houses, and churches. The rippled valleys and ‘fairy chimneys’ are a sight that is best seen from the skies. Scotty Graham and his wife Kartika were among the hundreds of tourists who enjoyed a balloon ride that covered the mountain ranges of Melendiz, Erciyes, and Hasan.
Graham photographed his experience during sunrise for the hour-long ride. “The feeling of flying so quietly in the air, and floating wherever the wind takes you, gives you a sense of freedom that perhaps only an eagle truly understands.”
Cappadocia was officially named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. It is believed the volcanoes in the area were active up to two million years ago.
Hundreds of balloons take to the skies.
Cappadocia is known as being one of the best places in the world for air balloon rides.
"It was, by far, the most unique photo shoot I have ever done. Even though there were hundreds of balloons flying at the same time, it was incredibly peaceful. I was amazed at how quiet it was," says Scotty Graham.
