You don’t need to be a doctor to appreciate the wonder of the human body. The body is like the perfect team, with every cell, organ, muscle having a specific and important function. We tend to take our bodies for granted, hence, our obsession with putting junk food into our mouths.

Perhaps if we understood how our whole body works, we may treat it with more kindness. We are not going to discuss human anatomy, but there are some very cool stuff we may not know our bodies do for us. Reddit asked its users to submit weird things the body does.

To be expected some of it is plain gross even it if it is for a purpose. At least now you know that when you blush, your cheeks are not the only body part that get all pink and red. Number #10 is the thing nightmares are made of.

#1. "You have a friendly symbiotic relationship with bacteria in your gut that keeps you healthy and helps you digest food. When you die, they will eat you." - tongmengjia

This bacteria is called the gut flora. The gut flora also changes based on age, eating habits, and health. This bacteria works as a roadblock against pathogenic or infectious bacteria.

#2. "When you blush, the lining of your stomach blushes too." - nervoushark

The stomach blushes along with your cheeks because of an increased blood flow in the body. This is caused by adrenalin being released by the body for a flight situation.

#3. "Three hundred million of your cells die every minute." - SUPERLARGEPRINT

No need to panic, the average person has anywhere from 10 to 50 trillion cells in the body. Having said that, the body replaces and replenishes the cells that die.

#4. "After giving birth, ladies are advised [that] they don't need to tell the doctor about the huge clots falling out their vagina until they're bigger than a lemon." - McSpackle

It's normal for women to bleed after giving birth. The body is releasing all the blood, mucus and uterus tissue. Heavy blood clots may mean part of the placenta is still in the uterus, if this happens you need to call your doctor immediately.

#5. "A woman's uterus can fall out of her vagina if the muscles are too weak... nope nope nope" - Khad1013

Uterus prolapse occurs when the pelvic muscles and ligaments become weak or stretch out. Depending on the severity of the case, the ligaments can be so loose that part of the uterus tissue hangs out of the vagina. A hysterectomy or uterine suspension surgery is required in such circumstances.
