Wondering what an ice bar is? These are actual drinking establishments, made primarily out of ice, and kept at a temperature of 23 degrees Fahrenheit. Does sitting on a chair made of ice, drinking a cold beverage out of a glass made of ice, all the while being surrounded by walls of ice sound like fun to you?

If you're adventurous enough to say yes, well, you're in luck! Ice bars are most often high-end tourist attractions, especially in wintry countries. Though they might be a novelty, that doesn't mean they aren't extremely popular. That's why there are ice bars in so many major cities, all over the world. There just might be one near you - if not, you'll know where to look the next time you're on vacation.

Take a look that these awesome ice bars and decide whether or not it's a place you'd like to chill!

#1. The SnowCastle of Kemi – Kemi, Finland

This ice bar is just one part of a majorly icy complex in Kemi, Finland. The SnowCastle has a bar, a hotel, a restaurant, and even a chapel. Bonus: After you're finished drinking at the bar, you can stay in one of the rooms that has an open ceiling, giving you a perfect view of the Northern Lights.

#2. Snow Bar inside Käfer by The Binjiang One – Shanghai, China

There's only one icy establishment in Shanghai, and Snow Bar is it. Don't come to this bar expecting to get a cold beer or a crisp glass of white wine: Snow Bar only offers icy shots of liquor.

#3. IceBar London – London, England

This isn't what you might normally expect from a traditional English pub, but in many ways, it's even better. For one, you can sip a vast multitude of different cocktails instead of just boring old beer. IceBar also offers hot food on the premises: Even though your drinks and body might be chilly, your fish-and-chips will be piping hot!

#4. IceBar by IceHotel- Jukkasjärv, Sweden

Widely thought of as the OG ice bar, this place is definitely a chilly force to be reckoned with .The entire dance floor is made of snow, and the furniture is all carved from solid ice!

#5. Hotel de Glace Ice Bar – Quebec City, Canada

You might be confused as to why someone would want to be COLDER in Canada, but one look at Hotel de Glace Ice Bar will have it all making sense. This place is beautiful, complete with crystalline always and icy columns inside. It gives patrons that they're in a wintry fairyland, far far away. Nope! Just Canada.

#6. Aurora Ice Bar, Alaska

More of a museum than a bar, this place is definitely worth a visit. You have to buy a ticket (it is a museum, after all) but once you're in you can enjoy all the establishment has to offer - including a few frosty drinks.
