We are our own toughest critics. We might not all be swayed by perfection or the glamorous lives of celebrities but even the most confident of us tend to point out our own flaws. The thing is, it takes a lot of energy to focus on the negatives. Not only that, it puts us further away from our own goals.

But it's a lot easier said than done. Even if we've come to embrace our flaws, we might still have to deal with the judgment of others. If a stranger strikes a few blows, it might not matter much. But when our loved ones, our parents for example, highlight our imperfections, the road to acceptance can feel lonely and rough.

Wherever you are at in your journey, we hope that you can find inspiration from the following people. Just as no one will never know our struggles, we will never know theirs. But despite their circumstances, they've managed to rise above the hate and self-doubt.
