The world can be a difficult, frustrating place, and sometimes the only thing we can rely on to combat the troubling stuff are random acts of kindness. The warmth and generosity of other people can be a real game changer -- especially when it comes from a place you would least expect.

Below are 19 random acts of kindness that will warm your heart and bring a tear to your eye. It's hard to believe that selflessness at this level really exists, but take comfort in the fact that it does. And remember, you can also be the catalyst for the kindness you want to see in the world. #19 just might inspire you to do so.

#3. Dwayne The Rock Johnson recently posted footage of a little girl visiting the set of his upcoming movie, "Central Intelligence." She wanted to move the airplane by herself, and the Rock helped her but let her believe she did it alone, totally making her day.

After boarding on the place, Garvison had to move seats a few times as her crying baby kept annoying fellow passengers. Then, something amazing happened: Nyfesha Miller, asked if she could try comforting the child. It worked, and Miller kindly held the now-sleeping baby for the entire flight.

#17. One day, Debbie and Shaun Riddle went to the West Side Cafe for lunch. The couple are regulars, and their waitress remembered them. She asked about their baby, who had sadly passed away. Saddened by the news, the waitress decided to pay their tab in the hope of making their lives a little brighter.

He recently heard about his friends' son, Ethan, who was hospitalized for serious pneumonia. After hearing of the toddler’s condition, Lambert wrote about Ethan’s story on his blog, and his shared love for collectible toy cars. Soon, people from all over the world were sending the toddler Hot Wheels.

"A slice of pizza is a big deal to me," one homeless person at Rosa's said. "Because of [owner] Mason, I'm assured of at least one slice of pizza every day."
