Rescued Lion Proves You’re Never Too Ferocious For A Comfort Blanket.

Lambert is an impressive African lion with a beautiful coat, massive paws, and a perfect set of slightly-terrifying lion teeth.

He also really loves cuddling up in a blanket like a burrito.

We know: It's atypical behavior from the king of the jungle, but adorable nonetheless. It all started when Vicky Keahey, founder of Texas' In-Synce Exotics Wildlife Rescue, picked him up from the family that used to own him. According to Keahey, Lambert's behavior mirrored that of a dog: Lazing around in the sun, enjoying being pet, and of course, putting his blanket to good use.

It all looks pretty adorable, but the story behind this story is actually a bit troubling.

According to Leahey, a father got Lambert as a cub, buying him illegally after his kids saw "The Lion King."

After three months, the dad realized he was in over his head and decided (probably wisely) to forfeit Lambert.

The rescue was asked to take Lambert in and Keahey was more than happy to do so. He could never be released to the wild, but he still deserved a safe and comfortable place to grow old.

And that's exactly what Lambert did.

Over time, he learned how to skateboard.

Lambert The Skateboard King

Lambert has a new skill - SKATEBOARDING!!! He can really only play with it when he's in his covered den area, because skateboards don't work quite so well in the grass, but it keeps him entertained when he's inside!! Rafiki is pretty interested too, but he's just too big - he'd just eat it.

Keahey also taught him to eat raw meat.

And then of course, there was the matter of his blanket preferences.

"I started thinking, 'Okay, he's used to being in a house, he's used to sleeping in the bed with grandpa.' So I got him a blanket, went into the enclosure and put the blanket in one of the corners. He curled up on that blanket and he went right to sleep. Ever since then, I always give him a blanket."

Looks like Lambert is living the sweet life, doesn't it?
