These Leaf Tattoos Will Help You Celebrate Your Love Of Nature.
Ukrainian tattooer Rita “Rit Kit” Zolotukhina has come up with a new way of designing tattoos, and her technique produces some of the most beautiful work we've ever seen. They're all based around real leaves -- or what Zolotukhina describes as "botanical fingerprints."
So how does she do it? The process is simpler than you might think. She dips the leaf in ink, places it on the clients skin to create a stencil, then uses that stencil to tattoo the leaf onto the skin. The results are delicate, highly realistic, and incredibly detailed. See some of Zolotukhina's work below.
On the right, you can see the stencil of the actual leaf. On the left, the finished product.
Here, you can see the work in progress. The inked stencil helps the artist keep a realistic shape, and she uses her own hand to fill in the details.
The resulting tattoos are incredibly realistic.
Zolotukhina explains, “We don’t know the definitive look when we start, just the colors, the mood and basic shape.”
She can produce this foliage-inspired work on basically any surface, at any size.
It's amazing how well she captures all the small details of the natural leaf.
