Leonardo DiCaprio’s Ex-Assistant Reveals What It’s REALLY Like To Work For Him.
Leonardo DiCaprio may be basking in the glory of winning his first Oscar in the Best Actor category, just don’t expect him to act like the typical egocentric celebrity. His former assistant Kasi Brown, worked for DiCaprio during the filming of The Aviator in 2003; she describes the A-lister as a very smart man with a “wicked sense of humor.”
Brown met DiCaprio when her friend Kayce Brown, worked as his assistant for the film Catch Me if You Can in Montreal. The writer even partied with the four-time Academy Award nominee. When filming for The Aviator moved from Canada to Los Angeles, Brown took over the assistant duties.
Although there are a lot of horror stories of artists treating their staff poorly, often making outrageous demands, Brown had a different experience. "Sometimes, I would pretend that he was the stereotype of an entitled celebrity and when he would ask me to do something, I would bow and in a beaten-down voice say, 'Yes, sir, anything you like sir, anything else, sir?' and he would laugh and tell me to knock it off,” explains Brown.
Leonardo DiCaprio has been among Hollywood's favorite actor for the last 20 years but he has not let fame change him.
Kasi Brown's job consisted of occasionally holding an umbrella, to shield DiCaprio from the paparazzi.

Brown reveals DiCaprio's favorite holiday is Halloween. The actor loves the anonymity being able "to walk amongst people and interact with them without recognition. Just be like everybody else without any expectations" says Brown.

DiCaprio and Brown have kept in touch over the years with her former boss giving her professional feedback.
