35 Weird And Slightly Inappropriate Questions People Asked Librarians Before Google Existed.

If you have wondered where people went to search for answers prior to the existence of the internet, you may want to turn to the local librarians of the past as the walking and talking encyclopedias. Before the existence of Wikipedia and Google people were still searching for answers and librarians were the go-to people.

The New York Public Library discovered a box documenting very unique and sometimes absurd questions their dedicated employees had to find an answer to.The library has posted the question cards on Instagram with the hashtag #letmelibrarianthatforyou.

The inquiries varied from what to do with a mouse in a woman’s kitchen to someone who thinks they may have seen Hitler two years after he died.

NYPL is the largest public library system in the country. Founded in 1895, the library serves more than 18 million clients, not including their online users.

Aside from books, the library holds historical collections such as Chistopher Columbus’ letter from 1493, declaring his discovery of the New World.
