Girl Has Her ID Returned With A Funny Note A YEAR After Losing It.
When Christina Egan, now 23, lost her I.D., she thought it was gone forever. That's why she ordered a replacement. She'd almost forgotten about it when she received a surprising piece of mail.
In the envelope, there was a handwritten note and her I.D. The anonymous sender admitted to finding it at a bar a year ago but decided to keep it until she turned 21.
At first thought, the note might seem harmless, even hilarious. But some readers have pointed out that using someone else's form of identification to receive some sort of benefit can result in a charge of identity theft.
Just in case you ever find a lost I.D. card, the best way to return is it to slip it into a mailbox. Some people have managed to catch up to the individual—luckily, they were still around—or personally sent the I.D. to the address listed. If you think that the item may be part of a crime scene, contact your local authorities.

A year after losing her I.D., Christina Egan, 23, received something in the mail.
When she first lost it, Egan didn't think much of it because it's happened before. "I usually just go out with my ID, debit card, and lip gloss in my jacket pocket," she told BuzzFeed News. "No purse, no wallet. Bad habit."
Here's a look at the sweet "Thank You" card.
There was no return address. After opening the card, it was clear why the sender wanted to remain anonymous.
Turns out that they had used Christina's I.D. for an entire year!
The text reads, "Found this on the floor of a bar about a year ago, hope you don't mind I used it for awhile. But - now I'm 21 so you can have it back! Thanks :) <3"
Is this creepy or clever? If this person wasn't 21 at the time, how were they in a bar? So many questions ...
Egan was a good sport about the whole ordeal.
She said that the I.D. probably saw some "good times" and plans to use this copy has backup, you know, just in case.
