Grandmother Prays To A ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Figure Thinking It Was A Saint.
Praying is a huge part of many religions. It's a practice where people address a request or mere expression of thanks to a deity or other object of worship. Individuals can pray in a place of religion like a church or temple or they could simply do it at home.
One great-grandmother, for example, has been praying at home every day for many years now. She uses a mini figurine of Saint Anthony to help her pray, or at least that's what she thought she was using. Turns out all her prayers throughout the years have been going to an elf from Lord of the Rings instead.
The great-grandmother's relative, Fabriela Brandão, made the discovery herself when she realized something about the figurine didn't look quite right. She searched the figurine online and found the exact one the great-grandmother had, only it wasn't Saint Anthony.
Instead, she found out that the figurine the great-grandmother had been praying to all these years was actually 'Elrond' from Lord of the Rings.
She posted the news to her Facebook with images. Her captions on the images translate to "‘My daughter’s great-grandmother prays to this figure of Saint Anthony every day, but looking more closely…"
Here's a photo of Elrond the elf next to a photo of Saint Anthony. To be fair, they do look similar. But don't worry, the great-grandmother is no longer praying to an elf.
