These Tiny Meerkats Just Had Their First Photo Shoot, And They Nailed It!

Taronga Zoo is celebrating the birth of its first meerkat pups in nearly seven years, and yes, they're the most adorable thing you'll see all day.

Born on January 7th, zookeepers are still unsure of the pups' sexes, but they suspect there is one male and one female. They were born to first-time parents Nairobi and Maputo, and both of them are extraordinarily healthy -- not to mention love being photographed. Recently, they finally made their way out of their nest box for the very first time.

“They were initially a little wary of this big new world outside, but with a bit of encouragement from mum and dad they started to explore,” said zookeeper Courtney Mahony in an interview.

You can check out photos of these adorable meerkats, as well as a video of them in action, below.

They only weighed a few grams when they were born, but they're growing like crazy thanks to a steady diet of pupae and mealworms.

Haven't had enough of the cuteness? Don't worry, there's an adorable video of the two meerkat babies to coo over.
