This is Clint Edwards. Clint and his wife, Mel, have three kids - Tristen, 10, Norah, 7, and baby Aspen. Clint is also the face behind the blog “No Idea What I’m Doing: A Daddy Blog.” Considering the title, you might assume that Clint literally has no idea what he's doing. A recent conversation Clint had with his mother would prove otherwise, though. He was asked a question that left him a little confused and made him think, and his eventual answer brought him quite a bit of Internet fame.

Through Thick and Thin

Clint and his wife have been married for over 10 years and have been through a lot together. The couple has moved across the country, obtained several college degrees, and are raising three kids that Clint describes as “snarky, needy, wonderful, and frustrating.” Considering that children are constantly having meltdowns, making huge messes and are in need of constant care, there's a lot of things going on in their home, and it can get a bit chaotic.

Not only does Clint write a blog, but he also works at Oregon State University as the student services coordinator. He describes himself as a husband and father that's learning by trial and error. He just wants to do his best to provide for his family, keep them happy, healthy and safe, and keep up with his professional life. Needless to say, Clint and Mel have plenty on their plates.

Even though Clint doesn't have a father-figure to look up to, he does the best that he can. His parents divorced when he was only nine, but his dad died when he was 19. While growing up Clint had several stepparents, step-siblings, and plenty of complicated family relationships, but in his writings he's expressed that he never had another steady father-figure. Which is why this story is so impressive.

But he does have a mom that he's very close to, and even though she was single, she provided for her kids as best as she could. In order to support her three children, she balanced two jobs, worked long hours, and stayed up late. Clint even remembers a time where she taught him to make pancakes over the phone when she was at work. Their bond is quite deep, which is why her question completely caught him off guard.
