The New ‘Normal’ Barbie Comes In ALL Body Types, And It’s So Much Better.

When I was a kid, I had a very extensive Barbie collection: I loved the fashion, the dream homes, and the hair. One thing that always stuck with me, though, was that all Barbies pretty much looked the same -- and none of them looked like any woman I'd ever seen in real life.

Well, that's all about to change. After 57 years, Mattel has finally decided to remake the iconic blonde Barbie and release dolls of all shapes, sizes, and colors. The new doll has three body options: Tall, petite, and curvy and a variety of skin tones and hair. The shift is reflective of a change in 21st century America, and frankly, it's about damn time. Check out the new dolls below.

The change in the doll's body and skin options signify a shift in beauty ideals, particularly how beauty is sold to little girls.
