She Looks Like A Normal Brunette, But Wait Till She Runs Her Fingers Through Her Hair.

Brunettes sometimes have hair envy. When it comes to rainbow and pastel hair color, those with darker manes have to bleach the hair to lighten it and then apply the actual color on top. This leaves the hair weak and damaged.

Celebrity colorist, Aura Friedman has created oil slick or duck feather, a style where dark purple, green, and blue dye is applied to tresses. "I've been trying to re-create gasoline or oil when it's on the ground and it rains,” says Friedman. The darker, iridescent hues are the perfect color for autumn. The best part is that it helps to keep the hair healthy.

For a more subtle look, add the jewel tones under the hair.

Finally, a hair trend specifically for brunettes.

The deep, darker tones will retain its color longer than its pastel counterparts.

Just finished this fun color combo. #oilslickhair
