This Rescue Dog Is The World’s Oldest Pooch, And She’s Adorably Wise.
There's a lot of misinformation out there regarding dog years: Some believe that dogs age at seven times the rate we do, while others believe it's much more or slightly lest. The most official equation we've found is the following:
For the first two years of its life, a dog year is equal to 10.5 human years -- that means when a dog is two, it's actually 22 in human years. After those first two years, each year equals four human years, give or take.
All things considered, that means that Tara, a 25-year-old dog, is possibly the oldest in the world. Using the standard (thought possibly inaccurate) equation that one dog year = seven human years, that would make Tara 175 human years old. If we use the equation outlined above, she'd be 114 human years old.
Either way, she's an incredibly ancient pup, and she looks pretty damn good. But there's more to this story than just Tara herself: Wait until you find out who her owner is.
