Truck Driver Checks Tires, And Discovers The Animal Kingdom’s Cutest Orphan.

It's not often that you encounter an aardvark, let alone a baby aardvark. They're nocturnal mammals that are native to Africa. That's why a truck driver in Namibia was so surprised when he found a baby aardvark curled up next to one of his truck tires.

Unfortunately, the baby's mom was nowhere to be found. Because the truck driver didn't know what to do with the baby aardvark, he took the exotic animal to the ZURI orphanage. Although the hairless animal isn't normally one that is adored, it quickly won over the hearts of the orphanage's staff members.

“It was love at first sight for me,” a local vet and the founder of the organization Dr. Erika de Jager said.

The orphanage named the aardvark E.T. and gave him even more love and care than it ever expected.

“It is a full-time job, much like a [human] baby,” de Jager said. “They need to be fed every couple of hours”.

During E.T.'s stay at the orphanage, he also met some of the shelter's rescue dogs there, Spokie and Zarah.

The dogs automatically assumed E.T. was a dog, but was confused as to what kind of dog he was.
