This Artist Uses An Amazing Technique To Bring Her Illustrations To Life.
Have you ever noticed that some of the most intriguing works of art -- from song lyrics to paintings -- are surprisingly simple? My younger brother reminded me of this the other day as we listened to Adele's "Hello" on the road. Though some of us say "I could have done that, you just have to do X, Y, and Z", the fact is that we haven't. No matter how basic, art demands discipline as well as imagination, two things we have little patience for.
Spanish artist Jesuso Ortiz is father to a collection of delightfully simple mixed media compositions. He has reimagined a soft pink rose into a flamingo, a metallic sky blue paint brush into a witch's broomstick, and spare buttons into a parade of hot air balloons. His work is as clean as it is whimsical, and his use of color is most darling.
