This Dog Was Paralyzed And Left To Die. Look At Him Now…
At only six months old, Zeus started to suffer from strange symptoms which slowly lead to paralysis. His family never brought him to see the vet... instead, they just dropped him off at a dog shelter in Oklahoma. Thankfully, the good people over at St. Francis Community Animal Rescue & Education (CARE) found out about Zeus and decided to help this poor pup.
He was brought to the vet immediately by his new foster mother Lynda Kuether. The vet told her that the paralysis was most likely caused by a virus.
The vet prescribed Zeus antibiotics and steroids. He also began physical therapy.
His foster mother Lyda happened to be a physical therapist for humans. She started Zeus's rehab with pool exercises. At first, Zeus couldn't even move his limbs...
...but as time progressed, Zeus gained some muscle and slowly began to swim. All on his own!
Then he was able to crawl.
After gaining some more muscle, Lynda got him a special wheelchair with a little bit of help from her Facebook followers.
It has been a tough and long journey. But today, Zeus roams around on all fours without a wheelchair!
Zeus's whole journey was documented in this video below. Check it out!
This was such an heartwarming story. We wish Zeus the best!
