Pokémon Go Players Can Win $5,000 By Finding THIS Rare Pokémon.
It would take living under a rock to not have heard the launch of the video game Pokémon GO. The game is a cool adventure that blurs the line between the real world and virtual reality where players go to real locations to find and catch Pokémon characters.
Whether it’s Central Park in New York or a library in Toronto, Canada, people can be found walking around with their mobiles trying to battle and capture the virtual creatures. Although, there have been numerous complaints of users affecting traffic, trespassing, and simply getting hurt for not paying attention, Pokémania is a cultural phenomenon.
Now Ripley’s is holding a limited time contest for players wanting to earn a little cash for apprehending these virtual creatures. Who knew you could earn money from playing a game? Remember to always participate in the game with caution. Safety for yourself and others is essential.
Ripley has launched a contest for Pokémon Go players. Depending on the catch, users can win anywhere from $100 up to $5,000.
Players in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia who capture one of the characters is entered to win.
The characters can be found anywhere of the Ripley's attractions as well as other locations around the countries.
This chart lists the Pokémon characters based on the most common to legendary status. The rarest creature caught will win the ultimate prize of $5,000.
Players have to visit the location to catch the virtual character.
Once the Pokémon is located, a screenshot of the capture with the recognizable area has to be uploaded to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #RipleysGo.
There is no limit to the number of characters caught and entered.
Players have to be a minimum of 13 years old to participate. The contest started July 15th and will run till July 24th.
Despite the backlash from those who think the game is causing people to be inattentive, walking around in a zombie-like state; others think the game will benefit people.
Some suggest the game helps people dealing with depression and social anxiety. Furthermore, people getting out and walking around to find these virtual characters is encouraging physical activity.
