Germans Have The Best Traffic Lights Ever. Why Can’t We Do This?
In the city of Hildesheim, Germany, interactive game units called ActiWaits were installed at traffic lights which allow pedestrians to play a game of pong with the opponents waiting on the other side. The units were designed by students from HAWK University in hopes of encouraging people to wait for the light to change before crossing busy intersections.
It's been two years of waiting for design and approvals from the city, but finally the new units were installed two weeks ago.
