Comedian Recreates Celebrity Instagram Pics To Show How Silly They Are.
Actor, writer and comedian Celeste Barber isn't going anywhere. She's known as the Australian Comedy Queen and here's why. Her Instagram went viral when she launched the experiment #celestechallengeaccepted in January 2015. In this project, she makes fun of celebrities by reenacting their photos, sans glamour. In the process, she also makes fun of herself.
Some fans are comparing her to Lena Dunham and praising her for being a real everywoman while others say she deserves her own category. Her parody posts have even drawn the attention of high profile celebrities, such as Ashton Kutcher and George Takei. She now has over 1.3 million followers on Instagram.
There's nothing wrong with admiring our favorite celebrities but it's refreshing and important to be reminded that most of what we see isn't real, especially in a world where our youth is facing increasing pressures to be something they're not.
Barber captioned this one "When you live your life by the 5 second rule." You won't know how unnatural this pose is until you try it yourself.
Posing poolside isn't as easy as it looks. Have you ever struggled to get out of a pool?
We couldn't have done it better. This one deserves a round of applause.
At least Celeste had the common sense to lay a sheet of fabric on the ground before lying down.
Cara Delevingne, lover of all things weird, would be proud of this parody.
