Real-Life Dr Doolittle Is LOVING His Connection With His Rescue Foxes.

Every day, Patsy Gibbons takes his pets, Grainne and Minnie, for a walk near his home in Ireland. They're an adorable team, and not so different from any other person strolling along with their pets.

Well, there is one difference: Grainne and Minnie are foxes.

Gibbons nursed the pair back to health after they were abandoned as cubs, and they've been by his side ever since. It's not exactly easy to keep foxes as pets, but Gibbons seems to have it under control. See more of his story below.

Gibbons and his foxes have become somewhat of local celebrities in their neighborhood.

“The foxes, Grainne, Minnie, who are five-years-old, and 11-month-old Henry, named after star hurler Henry Shefflin, do get a lot of attention from the children living around here," Gibbons explains. "Now primary schools are asking me to bring them along so the students can see them at first-hand. It’s keeping me very busy."

Gibbons never meant to have pet foxes: After rescuing them as cubs, he just decided to keep them for the long haul.

"My brother-in-law found Grainne in a box looking for heat in a storeroom close to Columba’s Hospital in Thomastown. My brother-in-law said we should try to do something as she was so thin. I took her to the local vet and so I just continued on caring for her and haven’t stopped." 4

“Minnie was brought to me as month-old pup after a woman found her in Kilmaganny as word began to spread that I was already looking after Grainne," Gibbons explained. "And Henry, was brought to me by a man living in the nearby town of Graiguenamanagh after he was attacked by a dog.”

It's tough to keep them all living in harmony, but this animal-lover has found a way.

How cool would it be to have a fox (or three) as a pet?
