He's been at it for quite a while. When he was six, he grabbed a small digital camera and started taking photos of things, like these beautiful seals, and he hasn't put his camera down since.
Who would have thought that talent like this could be self-taught?
The teen has certainly come a long way and has some serious skills, particularly underwater where he took a photo of this octopus who appeared to be taking a serious nap by a reef.

Most kids would have chosen to take photos of reptiles at a zoo.
There are certainly plenty of cages, and glass to shield Robert from danger, but Robert preferred to take photos of a wide array of animals in the wild because they simply looked more exotic in their own habitat.
