This 5 Year-Old Survivor Of A Fire Has One Wish For Christmas… Let’s Make It Happen.
Some stories are incredibly painful to share, but doing so generates the kind of goodwill that helps people get through their most difficult times. Warning: The following story, images, and video may be upsetting -- but this little girl's story will also inspire you.
Two years ago, a man named David and three of his children perished in a tragic house fire, a fire set senselessly by an arsonist. First responders found everyone in the house after it was too late to save them -- except for Sayfre, a five year old who was wrapped in a blanket in her father's arms.
Safyre was burned over 75% of her body, and had to have her arm and leg amputated as the result of her injuries. Images of this brave little girl from her hospital bed are incredibly grim, depicting a scene that no child should have to go through. However, her spirit is still very much intact, and all Safyre wants for Christmas are your kind words.
According to her aunt and caretaker, Safyre was absolutely thrilled to get her first Christmas card.
This prompted strangers from all over the world to send her cards, and there's no sign of them slowing down.
With the cards have also come thousands of dollars of donations for Safyre's continued care.
This little girl's amazing outlook on life is truly an inspiration, and we're hoping she has the best Christmas ever.
