Celebrities’ Former Teachers Revealed What They Were Like In High School.

Everyone has a past (some of which you'd probably like to forget). Though it sometimes feels like they've always been in the spotlight, celebrities have pasts, too: They (mostly) all went to school, had pre-famous personalities and experiences, and have people who could tell a story or two about their formative years.

And what better place to tell your before-they-were-famous celebrity anecdotes than Reddit? There, dozens of people have shared their knowledge of what your favorite celebs were like before they hit it big, and some of these stories may surprise you. They went from mischievous, anti-social, or downright strange high school kids to the ultra-famous personalities you know and love today, and their former friends and peers have the stories to prove it. Some of them even seem to have always known they'd be famous one day. When you find out why Taylor Swift's vice principal was disappointed with her for leaving school early every day, you'll definitely laugh out loud.

"Lorde. Was her English teacher two years ago. She was incredibly bright and wrote one of the best short stories I've ever read. She was 14 at the time." - Reddit user sabotagegaz

Matthew Mcconaughey might seem a bit bizarre now, but apparently he was a total sweetheart as a kid.

"My mother's best friend taught Matthew Mcconaughey. She said he was one of her favorite students because he was so sweet. Apparently he came to see her and talk to her class when he first started acting. Seems pretty cool." - Reddit user FrogCurry

Mariah Carey has always been true to her inner diva.

"My mom said she went to high school with Mariah Carey. She told me that Mariah was two years older and was actually a bully (no surprise). She was a total diva. My mom found out that Mariah would get up really early for school to get ready. She said she would take a needle to her eyelashes so each one was straight and perfect." - Reddit user Hunny_Bunny20

Kanye West has always been a bit strange, but it sounds like he had a relatively normal childhood.

"My mom taught Kanye West's Music Theory class in high school. She said he insisted he would one day be a famous rapper, and that he was a decent student but sometimes a bit stubborn. Overall not that noticeable, although he did like free styling. He and some other students threw a little baby shower for my mom while she was pregnant with my sister, which is nice." - Reddit user onebigcat
