These 20 People Made The World A Better Place... And They Didn’t Have To.
When we can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, kindness is what keeps us going. This is not to say that individuals are incapable of supporting themselves. It's simply better when the community pitches in.
Through giving generously -- note that generosity in this sense is not measured by quantity but by sincerity in thought -- we learn to love and live in happiness. We also learn to step outside the busyness of our everyday lives, a move that can actually help us de-stress and navigate our own issues more thoughtfully. So, even though the "season of giving" has come and gone, let's continue on with kindness!
Below you will find 20 recent random acts of kindness to inspire you.
#1. After a young boy had a complete autistic meltdown at a restaurant, another customer covered the check and left a heartfelt note for his mother.
#2. Members of the City of Riverside Fire Department, California, provided a pair of shoes for a homeless man they spotted on a busy freeway overpass.
#3. A handyman repaired a woman's furnace after finding out that her husband is currently on deployment.
#4. A 19-year-old Target employee patiently helped an elderly woman count her change and repack her items into a reusable bag. A mother-daughter pair witnessed his kind act and posted about it on Facebook, and it has since gone viral. Good customer service is so rare these days!
#5. Arizona State University students donated $2,500 -- a check for $2,350 and a camera -- so that a dining-hall employee could make a trip to Canada to see the Northern Lights.
