Owner Tracked His STOLEN iPad On Its CRAZY Journey Across America.
Between provocative TV shows and celebrity Instagrams, there's a lot to watch and follow these days. But sometimes, looking into your own life is far more interesting than these distant fantasies.
Today's case in point is deserving of your attention, not for what happened, but for how one man gracefully handled a rather delicate situation — that of loss.
Shelby Bonnie, an investment banker with Allen & Company in San Francisco, discovered that his iPad went missing during a change-over at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Poor man was on his way to the Bahamas for vacation.
Bonnie was able to track the iPad's whereabouts with the Find My iPhone app, which is often used to find lost or stolen Apple devices, and published frequent updates on his Facebook.
The iPad journeyed from Miami to Memphis, and the two nearly crossed paths at the same airport, which unfortunately turned into a missed reunion. The tragedy turned comedy gained traction from friends and strangers alike.
“This is better than ‘Game of Thrones," one Facebook user wrote.

Shelby Bonnie, an investment banker from San Francisco, was en route to the Bahamas when his iPad went missing at an airport in Florida.
The traveler was able to track it down and posted on Facebook that it "seemed to be staying at the Elvis Presley Heartbreak Hotel in Memphis."
Bonnie nearly ran into his iPad back at Fort Lauderdale while preparing for his return flight. Imagine the pain of being this close, yet still so far.
"iPad is within 100ft of me. I am in Fort Lauderdale and catching flight back to San Francisco," he wrote on Facebook. "This is so very weird. Have set off sound, no luck."
